7 Days Murchison Falls & Kidepo Photography Safari Overview

A 7-day photography safari to Murchison Falls National Park and Kidepo Valley National Park offers an exciting journey through two of Uganda’s most spectacular wildlife destinations. The adventure typically begins in Kampala, traveling north to Murchison Falls National Park where photographers capture dramatic landscapes, the powerful cascade of the Murchison Falls, and diverse wildlife along the Nile River including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and hippos. Boat safaris and game drives provide excellent opportunities for close-up wildlife photography and birdlife shots. The journey then continues to the remote wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park, known for its rugged scenery, sweeping savannah plains, and rare species such as cheetahs, ostriches, and large buffalo herds. Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park.

After early morning breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Murchison falls national park. Drive through Masindi town for lunch en-route after proceeding to Murchison.

Arrive at Murchison falls national park, drive to the top of the falls for a breathtaking sight of the Nile, and enjoy nice views of the Nile where it explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a river. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise.

Have breakfast in the morning and drive to the northern bank of the park for an amazing game drive expecting to see different animals in their natural habitats like giraffes, lions, waterbucks, elephants, hyenas, buffalo, Uganda kobs, patas monkeys, and much more with different bird species.

After lunch take on launch on the Nile. As you enjoy the cruise expect to see crocodiles, hippos, elephants coming for water, and a variety of water birds like the African fish eagle, kingfishers, and herons. overnight and dinner at the lodge.

Day 3: Murchison – kidepo

Transfer to Kidepo for another thrilling wildlife adrenaline. After morning breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on your journey to Kidepo Valley National Park. enjoy the spectacular sights en route to your journey. You will arrive in Kidepo in the evening, and check into your lodge. Spend the evening relaxing at your leisure.

Day 4: Full Day Game Drive in the Narus Valley.

Have morning breakfast and head for a full wildlife experience. You have a game drive in the Narus Valley. The Narus River Valley of Kidepo Valley National Park has a large concentration of wild animals. Expect to come across several herds of buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, and bird species, among others. You are also likely to encounter some predators including cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. In addition, you will be impressed by the breathtaking evergreen natural vegetation that surrounds the Narus River Valley.

Return to your lodge for your lunch. In the afternoon, You will have another game drive in the Narus Valley. Expect to come across several herds of buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, and bird species, among others.

Day 5: Morning game drive & Cultural Tour in Kidepo Valley National Park

You will drive towards South Sudan still in the national park to visit the hot springs. while at the hot springs, you will encounter amazing views of ostriches though their numbers keep decreasing due to high poaching rates.

While visiting the Ik people, you will get the ultimate knowledge about the small cultural tribe. You will spend almost the whole day in their community. Get to learn about their traditions, norms, and ways of life. Get to enjoy their traditional dances, songs, and folktales. Return to your lodge for refreshment, dinner, and overnight.

Day 6: Morning Game drive and Aruu Falls Visit.

Have morning breakfast and head for a full wildlife experience. You have a game drive in the Narus Valley. The Narus River Valley of Kidepo Valley National Park has a large concentration of wild animals. Expect to come across several herds of buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, and bird species, among others. You are also likely to encounter some predators including cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. In addition, you will be impressed by the breathtaking evergreen natural vegetation that surrounds the Narus River Valley.

After Lunch proceeds to Aruu Falls for a Thrilling Refreshening up of the amazing waterfalls and takes an over Night in Gulu Town.

Day 7: Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Kampala.

This Morning has Breakfast and Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for the Rhino Tracking Nature Safari. Later have Early lunch and Proceed your Journey back to Kampala or Entebbe.
